Helps the user delve into the world of farming

Farming Simulator 2013 is an agricultural simulation game for the PC and mobile devices. While other farm sims feature cute graphics and fanciful farming techniques, players here get to operate virtual farms inspired by the agriculture industry in the United States. Because your virtual farm is a for-profit venture, the game is also a financial simulator. All the crops and other products your farm grows can be sold to local markets. The game teaches some basic skills in logistics, accounting and general business administration.
Farming Simulator 2013 features some other real-world details most farming games don't, including more than 100 detailed vehicles and 20 real brands of top farming machinery and equipment. As you play, you can drive your own threshers, harvesters and tillers from Amazone, Kramer, Horsch, Fahr and Krone.
A traditional tractor trailer must be combined with dozens of other farming machines for successful operation of a real field. Cultivators, plows, seeders, hoppers, sprayers and balers are some of the advanced agricultural equipment you'll encounter in this detailed farming simulator. It's a world away from the cartoon-like agricultural games, but fans of real-world simulation games will appreciate its attention to detail.
As in the real world, you must apply real farming techniques such as seeding, plowing, collecting and fertilizing in the game. Plant potatoes, carrots, beets and onions as some of your starting cash crops. Terrain, irrigation and fertilizers must also be carefully selected to have a successful harvest; specific crops grow best in certain soil, and savvy virtual farmers soon learn where and when to plant.
Animal husbandry is also featured in the missions of Farming Simulator 2013. You can choose to ranch livestock, including sheep and cows, or raise chickens for meat and eggs. Meat and dairy are the main products that can be produced in this part of the simulation game.
Farmers must also build on their land. Classic barns and sheds are some of the most popular additions in the game, but you can also add grain silos and other farm essentials. Over time, you can build a whole complex of agricultural buildings, farmland and animal pens. Best of all, Farming Simulator 2013 allows multiple players to share their agricultural experiences through an online mode.
